My "First" Boo Boo

Well, this isn't really Zach's first boo boo, but it is the most visible he has ever had. Last weekend we went to a birthday party and while Daddy was watching him, he tripped and face planted into the concrete. (Of course this never would have happened if Mommy was watching, LOL, just kidding!)

It looks like he got in a fight! You should see the other guy! Tee hee....

Anyways I think it is Zach: 0, Concrete: 1

We also got a good start on Z's playroom this past weekend. Now all that is left is to paint the mural on the big blank wall, and maybe hang some more shelves for storage.

Many thanks to Shannon for this room, a lot of the stuff (decorations, bedspreads, rugs) are things Cayden had when younger. And she motivated me to organize this room in the first place (and she cleaned it out once)! If you can believe it this used to just be a store room for misc. stuff!

Toddler Rules

Okay so I just go sent this, and if this isn't Zach at this exact moment, I don't know what is LOL!

Toddler Rules

If it's on, I must turn it off.
If it's off, I must turn it on.
If it's folded, I must unfold it.
If it's high, it must be reached.
If it's shelved, it must be unshelved.
If it's pointed, it must be fun to play with at top speed.
If it's not trash, it must be thrown away.
If it's in the trash, it must be removed, inspected, and thrown on the floor.
If it's closed, it must be opened.
If it doesn't open, it must be screamed at.
If it's full, it will be more interesting emptied.
If it's empty, it will be more interesting full.
If it's a pile of dirt, it must be laid upon.
If it's a stroller, it must under no circumstances be ridden in without protest and must be pushed by me instead.
If it has a flat surface, it must be banged upon.
If Mommy's hands are full, I must be carried.
If Mommy is in a hurry and wants to carry me, I must walk alone.
If it's paper, it must be torn.
If it has buttons, they must be pressed.
If it has a faucet, it must be turned on at full force.
If it's a phone, I must talk into it, unless there is someone on the other end.
If it's a bug, it must be swallowed.
If it's not food, it must be tasted.
If it's food, it must not be tasted.
If it has a tail, I must yank it.
If Mommy wants me to come, I must run away.
If Mommy wants me to go away, I must cling on for dear life.

First "real" haircut

I took Zach to get his first professional haircut a week and a half ago at a place in Spring that only cuts kids hair. Once side is a bunch of chairs with video games (Nintendo) to play while getting a cut, and the other side was miniature cars, airplanes like at Chuckie Cheese with videos playing. Zach sat in the car one and also watched the movie "Cars".

He seemed to be doing okay, at first, and then the stylist tried to put a cape around his neck and he was not having that at all! Tried to bribe him with a pacifier and a sucker, but that didn't work to well. He would go back and forth from crying to being just fine. But at least we finally got it done. And it looks so cute! He looks like a little boy now! And I kept a lock of his hair because all the little trims I have done never cut enough to keep much.

Here are some pics. They aren't that great because I was trying to take them quickly and he wasn't having it!

15 Month Appt

Zach had his 15 month well baby check today, but actually he really is almost 16 months!

He weighs in at 23.1 lbs (45%) and is 32" tall (75%) and he still has a big head! It is in the 80% for size. I say it is because of his big old brain! The pediatrician said everything was looking great and that he was an adorable little boy. I can't help but agree!

He has been sick with pink eye and an ear infection these last couple of days, but it hasn't slowed him down one bit! He got to stay home from school and he had lots of fun, yesterday with mommy, and the day before that with daddy!

When we were home with him, I was trying to teach him where his nose is. He will point to daddy's nose, just not his yet. We were in his playroom though and he started pointing to all of his stuffed animals noses. It was adorable! Also, he calls everything, stuffed or moving a dog. No Zachary that is a cat, dog dog!

Spaghetti

So I finally found something else that Zach will eat now other than rice and beans. My spaghetti! Thank goodness I am finally finding some food that doesn't come out of a jar or a cup that he will eat. And for the record, we did have rice and beans twice in the last week :)

No one ever told me how hard it was going to be to get a toddler to eat! I guess I should have known, since I always saw Shannon struggle with getting Cayden to eat, but my goodness, it is tough!

So Zach will now answer when you ask him where things are. If you say where is Daddy, he will go in the room where Daddy is and point, but mostly he puts his arms in the air and says huh? Kinda like "I don't know". And he has learned where his head, eyes (sometimes misses and points to his ears) and belly button (always lifts his shirt to show you!) are. The things he is learning every day just amazes me. Love seeing those wheels turn.

He also has become quite a mama's boy as of late, hope he grows out of this phase soon as Daddy loves playing with him too!

Tomorrow we go to a "Little Gym" to do some baby gymnastics/play. I think he will have a really good time and will post pics soon.

Happy New Year!

We had a nice relaxing New Years this year. Just shot off fireworks with Shannon, Cayden, Caricia, Besim and Cody. And we woke up Zach at midnight to wish him happy new year!

Belated Christmas Post

Okay so I have been a bad blogger for the past couple of weeks! First Christmas, then New Year's, then the whole family got sick, so I have been behind on my posts...Going to catch up with how we spent Christmas now, before I forget it all!

Christmas morning we bring Zach out to the living room so he could see all his Santa gifts! At first, he was really groggy and not sure what was going on, then he got really excited! He kept saying oh, oh, over an over again and didn't know what to play with first! He got a miniature kitchen as his "big" gift and he had a blast figuring it out. He loves to take everything apart, then put it all back together again.

Then Steve's parents came over for Christmas breakfast and he got some more toys. He loved his little tonka truck from Grandma Kate!

Well we were all pretty exhausted after all the activities and we all took a nap before heading to my mom's house for Christmas lunch (yes we ate a lot this day!). After lunch, Zach let us know that it was time to open more presents! He kept bringing bags and presents over to me as if he was saying "lets open now!"

My mom had pulled out my old rocking horse and rocking chair and Zach had fun making them rock at the same time. He didn't want to get in them, just rock them! My mom painted Zach's name on one side of the horse, the other side has my name!

Zach's new thing is calling for the dogs now. I guess I call the dogs a lot, when I am letting them outside, bringing them back in, etc. So now Zach calls them a lot to, it is more like Maywaaa and Belle instead of Mya and Jezebel. Here is a picture of him in my mom's backyard calling for Mya!

Then it was back to the house, we had all had a busy day, but Zach was ready to eat again. He sure does like my mom's apple salad!

And for me, the best present ever...
